TROY, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- A woman was killed when two cars collided head-on in Madison County on Saturday afternoon.
The accident happened in the 300 block of Troy O'Fallon Road around 12:50 p.m.
Police say Geralyn Wolfersberger, 56, died from blunt abdominal and chest injuries. She was pronounced dead at 2:36 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Hospital.
The two passengers in the other vehicle are listed in stable condition.
Police say a preliminary investigation suggests Wolfersbeger was driving northbound and crossed over into oncoming traffic, then collided with a southbound vehicle.
The Madison County Sheriff's office continues to investigate the crash.
