WILDWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Wildwood family’s home was destroyed after it caught fire Friday morning.

Firefighters got the call to respond to the two-story home in the 18000 block of Bucks Creek Road at 2:25 a.m. Upon arrival, fire crews reported heavy flames shooting from the home.

Officials said the residents that lived in the home made it out safely after being alerted by smoke alarms.

There were no injuries “due to the fast actions from a neighbor who called 911 and the working smoke alarms in the home,” said Chief Vincent Loyal of the Metro West Fire Protection District.

It took the efforts of five fire departments to put out the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
