ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Drivers heading into downtown St. Louis from Illinois this weekend may want to plan a different route, as westbound I-64 will be closed from the Poplar Street Bridge to 21st Street beginning Friday night.
The highway is closed so crews can work to remove and replace the driving surface on the westbound double deck highway.
Officials say the bridge will reopen by 3 a.m. Monday.
One eastbound lane of I-64 will be open from 21st Street to the Poplar Street Bridge starting at 6 p.m. Friday.
The Broadway, 10th Street and 14th Street exits onto I-64 will also be closed. All of those ramps will reopen Monday morning.
