(KMOV) – A woman is accused of hitting her neighbor with a baseball bat after getting into an argument outside their homes in Wentzville on Saturday.

Jennifer Shuttleworth was charged with two counts of assault, one of them a felony, one a misdemeanor.

According to court documents, the victim was about to repair a wooden fence on her property in the 1900 block of Diehr Rd. when Shuttleworth came out of her house holding an aluminum baseball bat.

Deputies say Shuttleworth poked the bat through a hole in the fence and tried to hit the victim. She pulled the bat back and the two got into a physical altercation.

Authorities say that’s when Shuttleworth took the bat and hit the victim in the right forearm. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Shuttleworth was taken into custody on a $30,000 cash-only bail.

According to deputies, Shuttleworth and the victim have been in an ongoing dispute for more than a year.
