ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Planning for Labor Day weekend festivals started weeks, even months ago, but the threat of remnants from Hurricane Isaac left some festival organizers scrambling to find a dry back-up plan.

The Big Muddy Blues Festival takes over Laclede’s Landing the first weekend of September every year. On Saturday morning, it was decided the bands would take over the Landing’s restaurants.

Emily Kochan is one of the head organizers of the annual music party. After realizing the weather was not as bad as she originally anticipated, she questioned whether the last-minute changes should have happened.

While the Big Muddy Blues Fest continued rocking—though slightly altered—on the Landing, the weather canceled other events throughout the area.

Labor Day Weekend became the rain check for the 4th of July fireworks in Chesterfield. However, the rain is forcing the town to come up with a third date.

The Moonlight Ramble bike ride has been rescheduled for Sept. 15 while the Victorian Festival in Jersey County is canceled.
