(KMOV) – A water main break affected several businesses in Maryland Heights on Wednesday.
According to Missouri American Water, an 8-inch diameter pipe broke near the intersection of Westline Industrial Dr. and Page Ave. around 9:45 a.m.
Officials said crews arrived on scene about an hour later and immediately shut off the water. They got the main fixed by about 2 p.m. and officials said streets were expected to be clear about two hours after that.
Ann Dettmer with Missouri American Water said six businesses were impacted by the break. Dettmer said the pipe was installed in 1968, and its age could have been a factor in the break.
