(KMOV) – A college student was robbed at gunpoint on the Washington University Campus on Tuesday morning.

Police say the robbery took place on a school parking lot at 276 Skinker Road around 8 a.m.  Investigators say the victim was standing at a bike rack talking on his cell phone when he was approached by the suspect who displayed a handgun.

The suspect stole a cell phone, and a backpack which contained a laptop and other personal items before fleeing in a blue Pontiac Aztec.

The suspect has been described as being a black male, 20-30 years of age and approximately six-feet tall. He has a thin build, dark complexion with dreadlocks. He was seen wearing all black clothing with his face covered with a cloth with only his eyes visible.

The vehicle he fled in was reportedly driven by a light-skinned black female who had a sheet over her head and face.

The Washington University Police were notified of the incident and are handling the investigation.
