VILLA RIDE, Illinois (KMOV— A Villa Ridge man was sentenced to over three years in prison on Thursday after being convicted of illegally possessing a firearm.
William Kern, 33, was sentenced to 42 months in prison and fined $300.
According to officials, Kern was charged on May 17, 2011 with possessing a firearm after being convicted of arson in 1998, which is a felony under Illinois law.
