Multiple lanes of Interstate 270 were shut down in west St. Louis County Wednesday morning due to debris on the road, according to the Missouri Department of Transporation.

A post on the KMOV Facebook page indicates that "debris" was actually a wild turkey that found itself roaming the interstate near the Manchester Rd. exit.

Lanes in both directions of I-270 were closed in the area while crews worked to get the turkey off the road. 

All lanes were back open by about 8:30 a.m.
