Mailman accused of possessing, dealing drugs in Madison Co.

(KMOV) – A United States Postal Service worker faces charges after he was allegedly caught dealing drugs in Madison County.

Michael Hayes, 44, was charged Friday with two counts of unlawful delivery of cannabis and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

According to court documents, Hayes was caught delivering more than 30 grams of marijuana in Alton on Thursday. Authorities say he also possessed less than 15 grams of hydrocodone.

Hayes, who is employed as a USPS mail carrier, is currently listed as off-duty.
