(KMOV) – The United States Postal Services announced its deadlines for holiday mailing.
More than 15.2 billion pieces of mail are sent through the postal service from Thanksgiving to Christmas season. Monday December, 17 is expected to be the busiest day when it comes to the volume of packages, letters, and cards being mailed that day, estimating at 658 million pieces.
The USPS is encouraging shoppers to start early this year, announcing mail-by dates to make sure presents and cards arrive on time.
Recommended mail-by dates for Christmas arrival are:
-Dec. 14—Parcel Post
-Dec. 20—First-Class Mail
-Dec. 21—Priority Mail
-Dec. 22—Express Mail
