(KMOV) – A person is in custody after two Washington University sophomores were struck in a hit-and-run wreck late Sunday night.

According to police, Shana Zucker and Richard Lee were returning to the Wash U campus after an off-campus formal around 11:45 p.m. when a blue BMW struck a Metro bus on Hoyt Dr.

The car then hit the students, who were taken to the hospital on stretchers with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver fled the scene, but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody by police.

Additional details surrounding the wreck were not immediately available.
