(KMOV.com) -- A 53-year-old man was killed and two others were taken into custody after a multi-vehicle crash in north St. Louis early Monday morning.

St. Louis Police said two people were riding in a Chevy Trail Blazer on westbound Dr. MLK around 2:20 a.m. when it went through several red lights and struck a car traveling southbound on Euclid.

Authorities responded to the scene and extracted David Pullum and a woman from the car. They were both transported to the hospital in critical condition. Pullum later died from his injuries.

Police said a passenger in the Trail Blazer fled the scene on foot and was apprehended by officers about two blocks away.

The 36-year-old male driver of the suspect’s vehicle was in possession of a firearm and taken into custody.

Additional information was not immediately available.
