EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV) -- The East Saint Louis Police Department has fired two officers who are being investigated by the FBI.

East St. Louis Police Chief  Floore confirms says Officer Ramone Carpenter is accused of driving a woman to Jones Park two months ago and forcing her to perform a sex act on him in his car.

The other officer, Christopher Parks, allegedly followed Carpenter to the park, asked him if he was okay, then left.

Parks is the cousin of east St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks.

Floore still insists the officers should have been suspended, not fired. He says they had no record of alleged misconduct before the incident.

The officers have up to 30 days to file an appeal.
