(KMOV.com) -- A section of Webster Groves High School was damaged when solar panels on the roof caught fire on Saturday.
Firefighters were called to the school, located at 100 Selma Ave., around 1:45 p.m.
When crews arrived, smoke and flames could be seen rising from the building's roof. Firefighters were able to douse the flames within about 15 minutes.
Authorities confirmed that solar panels installed on the building's roof caught fire. Damage was limited to a new wing of the building, constructed about two years ago.
Eight fire departments responded to the two-alarm fire. Multiple streets near the high school were closed as crews worked to contain the fire.
Authorities said the fire is not considered suspicious in nature.
Classes at the high school will resume on Monday.
