(KMOV.com) – Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon told News 4 those who have not received their 2014 state tax returns, will receive them soon.
The Missouri Department of Revenue said all refunds will be issued by the end of June, it estimates it still has 262,000 refunds to mail out, which is around 100,000 less than in May. Nixon told News 4 those who do not receive a refund by the end of the month is owed interested by the state.
State officials said refunds were being held onto in order to sure up state finances. Under Missouri law, a taxpayers is owned interest if the state has not mailed out his or her refund within 90 days of tax day. Estimates show $114 million in refunds have still not been paid out.
