EAST ALTON, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- More than 5,000 Madison County residents lost power Saturday night, after a car reportedly struck a utility pole.
Ameren Illinois officials say the accident happened just after 5 p.m. in East Alton, Ill.
Thousands of homes were without power for about two hours Saturday night. According to Ameren, all power was restored by 7:45 p.m.
Bethalto, East Alton and parts of Edwardsville were affected by the outage.
