NORTH ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A teenager is in critical condition after being shot multiple in a north St. Louis alley.

The 18-year-old female victim was walking with a 22-year-old man in the area of East Grand Boulevard and West Florissant Avenue when they asked someone for directions. They were directed into an alley in the 2100 block of East Warne where they would meet someone who could give them directions.

As the victims entered the alley, gunfire erupted. The female victim was struck two times in the back. She was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The male victim was not injured.

The suspect was described to police as a male in his early 20s. Further descriptive material was not released.

An investigation is ongoing.
