SWANSEA, Il (KMOV.com) - Swansea police have issued a warrant for a man they say is dangerous.

Police are looking for 43-year-old Harlin Haines. Haines has a criminal past that goes back over 20 years. His record includes six felony cases and 27 misdemeanors. Haines is also a registered sex offender.

Sex offenders must check in with the state every 90 days. When police went to check on Haines two weeks ago, he wasn't home. His roomate filed a missing person report the next day. News 4 also attempted to contact Haines at his apartment but he was not there. Police say they still want to find him.

The Belleville News Democrat reports Haines broke into a home in 2003 and stood near the bed of a sleeping girl. She woke up and saw him masturbating.

"As with any missing person we want to find him and make sure everything is okay. With Mr. Haines, he has had some problems in the past staying up on his registration," said Swansea Police Deputy Cheif Craig Coughlin.

Coughlin does not have to go far to register, he lives only a block away from the Swansea Police Department.
