ST. LOUIS, Mo (KMOV) – Police arrested a man who allegedly robbed his sister, stole a pickup truck and then shot at police during a chase through St. Louis Friday morning.
Police said they received a call at 12:30 a.m. from a woman saying she was robbed by three men in the 5400 block of Delmar.
The victim told authorities she was inside a room in her home counting several thousand dollars when her brother knocked on her door. When she opened it, her brother and two other men entered the room.
According to the victim, her brother pulled out a handgun and demanded the money.
The victim gave him the money and all three suspects fled the scene in a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
A short time later, police spotted a silver pickup truck with three men inside near the intersection of Enright and Aubert in north St. Louis. Deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver sped away and officers gave chase.
Officials said the suspects then opened fire multiple time on the pursuing officers as they traveled westbound on Interstate 70.
According to reports, the suspects were shooting at police from both the driver’s and passenger’s side of the truck. No one was struck.
The driver eventually pulled over in the 4900 block of Euclid Terrace. That’s when the men jumped out of the truck and fled on foot.
