ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – Two men wanted for allegedly robbing several St. Louis-area banks were captured in north St. Louis Wednesday following a pursuit.

According to police, detectives were doing surveillance outside a home in Ferguson in connections to several bank robberies at local grocery stores.

Police said when two men walked outside, officers followed them and tried to pull them over.

That’s when the suspects took off and a chase ensued.

According to police, officers from Overland, St. Ann and the Missouri Highway Patrol chased the suspects down I-270 to I-170. The suspects then got off on the Rock. Rd exit and headed west on Lindbergh.

Police said the chase ended after the suspects crashed at the intersection of McDonnell Boulevard and Banshee Road, located just north of Lambert Airport.

One of the officers transported the driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the car was also taken into custody.

Authorities said both suspects are wanted for several grocery store bank robberies, but did not say when or where those robberies took place.

Additional details were not immediately available.
