Suspect plows through garage door during Metro-East burglary

CASEYVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Police are looking for a burglar who plowed through a Caseyville woman’s garage door after taking several items from her home.

According to reports, the burglary happened Thursday morning at a home in the 500 block of East O’Fallon Drive.

The homeowner told News 4 the suspects were able to gain access to her garage which is attached to her home. The suspect reportedly pulled a large SUV into the garage then broke into the house through a window. The homeowner said the burglar took various items from the home, including TVs and computers.

At some point, the thief got spooked, ran from the home and back into the garage. Once in the garage, the suspect hopped back into the SUV and tore out of the garage without opening the door.

Police responded to the scene to further investigate the case. Witnesses told police they saw a black SUV leaving the area.
