Police say officers spotted George, who then pulled out at gun and pointed it at them.

“Fearing safety of their lives, the officers returned fire, striking the suspect,” said St. Louis County Police Officer Brian Schellman.

Authorities say it was unclear how many shots the officers fired and it was not known if the suspect opened fired.

George was taken into custody and transported to the hospital, where he was in stable condition Thursday night.

His bond was set at $250,000, cash only.
