Madison, Illinois (KMOV.com) – Charges have been filed against a suspect in the shooting death of University of Missouri student that was home for Christmas break.
Deneshion Swope, 24, has been charged with First Degree Murder in the shooting death of Jarrett Mosby, 21 of Collinsville, Illinois.
Investigators with the Major Case Squad say that Mosby met Swope in the intersection of Bissell and 2nd Street in Madison, Illinois on December 23 for an apparent drug deal. Detectives say the two got into an argument and Swope allegedly shot Mosby seven times.
Mosby was a senior, majoring in Business, at the University of Missouri in Columbia. He was visiting his young son while on winter break.
Swope is already in custody on unrelated federal charges.
