(KMOV) – Authorities said a suspect was arrested after fleeing the scene of a single-vehicle accident in north St. Louis County on Friday.

Witnesses told police a 1995 Toyota Camry was traveling at a high rate of speed on southbound Highway 367 near Dunn Rd. around 4 a.m. when it hit a concrete median and flipped over.

Authorities responded to the scene and found the car upside down and unoccupied.

Police said officers then found a man walking nearby matching the description giving by witnesses. Authorities said he began running from police but was eventually apprehended.

Police said he was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities said he was issued a summons for fleeing the scene and released.
