(KMOV) – A man accused in a north St. Louis County shooting late last year was again arrested after he allegedly crashed into a police car with a stolen truck earlier this month.

Derenta Street, 23, was charged July 10 with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and assaulting a police officer.

According to court documents, police on July 2 saw Street sitting in a stolen pickup truck parked in the 1000 block of Hornsby Ave. in north St. Louis County.

Police said an officer parked in front of the driveway and got out of his car.

Authorities said that’s when Street hit the gas and slammed into the police car as the officer jumped out of the way.

Police said Street couldn’t get out of his truck and got into an altercation with the officer.

Street suffered injuries to his forehead and arm and was eventually taken into custody.

Street was also charged with shooting at a man in the 11900 block of Red Barn Ct. in north St. Louis County in July 2012.
