ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A St. Louis mom is enraged after her daughter was handcuffed at Beaumont High School in a dispute over a new dress code.

She claims the school allowed security guards to get out of control.

The woman’s daughter, LaTreesha Davis, claims that she was handcuffed at school for wearing her Mizzou hoodie. Davis says she had the jacket in her hand and refused to let go. She says her arm was then bent back and the cuffs were placed on tightly.

Beaumont’s new dress code was implemented November 1, and this is the first year the school has implemented a dress code. Students are allowed to wear hoodies, but only if they match school colors.

The mother, Chaulesa Maxey says that both of her children were basically assaulted by security guards. She says her son was harassed because of a jacket he was wearing, and that both situations could have been prevented.

The St. Louis Public School District only says that the incident is being investigated.
