ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) – A 42-year-old man on Wednesday was charged with giving his girlfriend's 12-year-old son alcohol hours before the boy’s drowning death in the Meramec River.

Christopher T. Marks, 12, went missing August 5 at the Palisades Conservation Area, located in the 18800 block of Franklin Road.Officials said eight teenagers, Christopher and Combs were on a day trip to bar-b-cue at the park around 7:30 p.m.
The boy told his mother's boyfriend he was going to go swing on a rope on the other side of the river. Chris’ sister, Katie, says he was standing in the water about waist deep and a few feet away from the current. But a few moments later she realized he was gone.
Marks’ body was pulled from the Meramec River on August 7. He was located about six miles from where he had last been seen.
