(KMOV) – A St. Louis woman is accused of altering a check she collected for her son’s school fundraiser.

Danyelle Rodgers, 33, was charged July 19 with forgery.

According to court documents, the victim gave Rodgers’ son a $9 check to purchase candy for his fundraiser. Police said the victim left the “pay to the order of” field blank.

Authorities said Rodgers took the check, made it out to herself and altered the amount to $90. She then cashed the check.

Rodgers was later arrested and confessed to the crime.

Her bond was set at $10,000.
