ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - A street that is need of repair will not be worked on in the near future.
St. Louis City officials say Vandeventer Avenue in Midtown St. Louis is need of work. Utility work that occurred north of Highway 40 has taken a toll on the road.
St. Louis City officials say the street will not be repaired now because it has not secured the needed funds.
"$400,000 is our price tag just for the material.," said Todd Waelterman, the St. Louis Streets Director. "We have the equipment. We have people that can actually do it and we'd like to get this done. Maybe it won't be the whole thing. But our goal is to get a piece of this done this summer."
The city plans to ask for federal funds if it can't secure the money within the next few weeks.
