ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Two St. Louis County brothers who spent the last four months in Africa shooting a documentary on poverty came home Saturday night.

Tim and David Peterka's trip was marred by a plane crash which killed a pilot and injured two of their fellow filmmakers, who are also from the St. Louis area.

The four friends from St. Louis set out in July to shoot a documentary on poverty. While shooting, they hitch-hiked across the U.S. and parts of Europe, trying to live on a $1.25 a day.

Two of the four came back early after the plane crash. The Peterka brothers returned Saturday evening.
