ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – St. Louis city has partnered up with a group of lawyers in an effort to make changes and clean up problem properties.

The Problem Properties Task Force required owners of derelict properties to restore or sell them. Now the law firm of Thompson-Coburn is offering pro-bono legal service to help go after those owners.

“So this will add to the resources to allow us address more properties quicker and address, particularly, in a more aggressive way those properties that are the worst of the worst in our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Francis Slay.

The mayor is helping other law firms will follow Thompson-Coburn’s lead and offer their services as well.
