Get ready, St. Louis area. It looks like we may actually see a bit of snow Monday evening, according to News 4 Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt.

Temperatures rose into the mid-60s Monday afternoon, but the numbers are expected to significantly drop as winds and the skies clear out across the area.

“There’s going to be some light rain showers here and there and there may end with a mix or changeover to snow,” Ehrhardt said.

Ehrhardt said if it snows it’s not expected to accumulate as surface temperatures will take a while to drop below freezing. All precipitation will end by Monday evening, he said.

Temperatures Monday night will drop to a frigid 23 degrees as the skies clear.

Looking ahead, the cold is expected to stick around on Tuesday as temperatures are projected to reach a high of 36.
