ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV) – A north St. Louis County woman faces sentencing this summer after pleading guilty to leaving her newborn child under a tree last year.

Kaitlin Norton, 20, pleaded guilty to first-degree child abandonment and child endangerment in St. Louis County court. Her sentencing date is set for July.

According to court documents, police responded to a home on Westridge Parc Lane in Ellisville after a woman living at the house found a baby boy under a blanket.

Police said the baby was transported to a local hospital and appeared uninjured.

Norton was turned herself into police after being treated at a local hospital.
