(KMOV) – A St. Louis County man faces a litany of charges for allegedly raping and torturing multiple women dating back several years.

Adam Capriglione, 29, was charged Tuesday with 19 felony charges that include forcible rape, forcible sodomy, felonious restraint and domestic assault. He is jailed on $500,000 bond.

Police say they began investigating Capriglione in Jan. after one of the alleged victims contacted authorities. Authorities say the investigation revealed Capriglione had raped, sodomized or tortured several women since 2007. Capriglione also faces one count of sexual exploitation of a minor for allegedly filming a child having sex in 2007.

The crimes occurred at Capriglione's apartment and allegedly involved six victims. According to court records, most of the victims began as girlfriends. Some lived with Capriglione.

According to court documents, the most recent incidents happened between Jan. 6 and Jan. 22. Police say Capriglione and the victim were living together at the time when he choked her unconscious. Authorities say he also burned and cut her with scissors and beat her with a rubber mallet.

According to court documents, Capriglione committed similar acts against two other women he had relationships with in 2011 and 2012. Capriglione allegedly covered the face of one of those women with plastic wrap, and punched another in the eye. He is also accused of deviate and potentially harmful sexual activities with the victims.

It wasn't immediately clear if any of the women were allegedly imprisoned in the apartment.

In addition, Capriglione is accused of raping a woman between July 4, 2011 and Aug. 30, 2011.

Police suspect there may be other victims and urged them to come forward.

In a release, Capriglione's attorney said people "should not rush to judgment, and wait until all the facts come to light."
