ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- St. Louis County says it plans to cut back on plowing to save money during this upcoming winter.

The funding cutback will affect residential streets in unicorporated St. Louis County. A spokesperson from St. Louis County's Department of Highways and Traffic says the subdivisions will be pre-treated, which has always been the case but, whether they get plowed depens on how much it snows.

If snowfall measures at two inches or fewers, there will not be any follow-up plowing or follow-up salting on subdivision streets.

Some residents are concerned about the new policy.
