(KMOV) – A Pagedale board member faces charges after he allegedly broke his wife’s wrist during an assault at their St. Louis home late Monday night.

James Thomasson, 78, was charged Tuesday with second-degree domestic violence.

According to court documents, Thomasson and his wife were at their home in the 1500 block of Salerno around 10 p.m. when he got mad because he did not like dinner.

Police say he then started yelling at her and grabbed her wrist and twisted it. Thomasson’s wife drove herself to a local hospital, where X-Rays showed she had a broken wrist.  She was treated and released.

Investigators later went to Thomasson’s home, but he refused to comment. He was taken into custody without incident and placed on a 24-hour hold pending warrant application.

According to court documents, Thomasson is “an alcoholic and was drunk at the time of the incident.”
