(KMOV.com) -- Tax payers must make tough decisions Tuesday at the polls. One item up on the ballot is Prop P also known as the Arch Tax.

Voters in St. Louis City and County will decide whether to raise the sales tax to fund renovations to the St. Louis Arch grounds. The proposition will also aid upgrading area parks, and the Great Rivers Greenway trails.

One-third of the money would go to the arch grounds which has many critics arguing that local taxpayers should not have to pay to upgrade federal property.

The tax increase would be about two cents on a $10 purchase.
