(KMOV) -- A St. Louis City alderman is facing state fines for allegedly failing to properly report money spent on campaign signs.

According to court documents, Alderman Antonio French, of the 21st Ward, is facing a fine of $3,700 for failing to report the prices for two “paid for by” signs for Aldermanic President Lewis Reed’s campaign before a set deadline.

February 25 was the deadline for filing an “8 Day Before” report for the March 2013 primary election, which was to include all expenditures through February 21.

However, French is accused of not including the price for the two signs which totaled more than $2,600.

French and his campaign committee are both accused of two counts of failure to timely report incurred exdpenditure and failure to timely file direct expenditure report.

The order and the remaining balance of the fine will be vacated if $460 of it is paid within 45 days.

Further details into the incident were not immediately known.
