(KMOV) – A St. Charles man was sentenced to eight years in prison for punching and kicking his 79-year-old mother, breaking several of her bones.

Daniel Quirk Jr., 43, was charged with first-degree elder abuse in May after the incident at his home in the 340 block of Oakleaf.

He was sentenced in St. Charles County court after pleading no contest to the felony charge.

Quirk was already on probation for a 2010 assault on his mother, and there was a warrant out for his arrest.
