(KMOV.com) -- Some residents in St. Charles County are under a boil water advisory after a large water main line ruptured.

The following information is from the Missouri American Water website:

Approximately 200 customers located in the St. Charles County subdivision of Fieldstone Farms served by Missouri American Water are affected. The streets affected are: Wimbledon Court, Hillsboro Court, Fieldstone Farms Drive, Bentley Park Drive, Trent Park Drive, Clayborne Drive, Blackhorse Drive, Knights Crossing Drive, Harvest Run Drive, Grand Stables Drive, Kings Manor Drive, Remmick Stables Court as well as Hustler Manufacturing and the Mobile on the Run located at the corner of Highway K and Crusher Drive.

Missouri American Water is advising these customers to bring their water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using it for drinking or cooking. Tap water is okay for washing/bathing. The precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect until water quality samples confirm that the water remains safe for consumption.

Precautionary boil water advisories normally last up to 48 hours.

Information about the advisory is being placed on the doors of residents in the affected area. The Missouri American Water website will be updated as soon as the advisory is lifted.
