(KMOV) -- A day after seeing temperatures in the mid-40s, the topsy-turvy winter brought snow and wintry mix into the St. Louis area on Friday.
The wintry weather moved into the St. Louis area from the west about 7 a.m.
The type of precipitation varied by region, as the northern parts of the News 4 viewing area saw snow, while the area immediately surrounding St. Louis got more of a wintry mix. The southern portions of the St. Louis area were primarily hit with rain.
“The evening commute should be free of precipitation although some roads will likely be slushy,” said News 4 Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt.
Temperatures are expected to rise during the weekend, with Saturday and Sunday both seeing highs in the upper 30s.
Temperatures on Monday are forecast to reach the 50s, with rain likely.
