Sketch released of suspect in Metro-East shoe store robbery

SHILOH, Ill. – Police have released a sketch of a suspect they say robbed the Payless ShoeSource in Shiloh, Ill. on Thursday.

According to police, the suspect was armed with a Glock-style handgun when he entered the store in the 3600 block of Green Mount Cross Driving around 9:30 a.m.

Police said he walked up to the clerk and was given an unknown amount of cash before fleeing from the store. Authorities said he was last seen running into the nearby Target parking lot.

Police said the suspect was a black male, estimated to be 5-foot-7 with a slim build. He was wearing a nylon-type mask, a black felt jacket, dark blues jeans and tennis shoes.
