(KMOV.com) – St. Louis County officials are working to declare vacant Jamestown Mall as a blight and citizens will be able to weigh in on the decision in a Town Hall Meeting Monday.

St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley said by declaring the mall a blight, it will allow the county to bring in a new developer. The planning commission still has to vote on whether to recommend condemnation to the County Council and the council will make the final call.

The Town Hall Meeting will take place at the North County Recreational Complex on Redman Road from 6-8 p.m.

Jamestown Mall’s final anchor store, Macy’s, closed earlier this year and the remaining smaller shops followed suit.
