(KMOV.com) -- A tractor trailer and multiple vehicles collided Friday morning on northbound Interstate 270.
Multiple agencies were called to the scene of the accident. Authorities said, in all, five vehicle were involved. Several people were transported to area hospitals with injuries. One person suffered serious injuries, but officials said it is not life threatening.
A spokesperson from the Maryland Heights Police Department said a tractor trailer decided to exit at the last moment and caused the accident. The truck driver could face charges.
All northbound lanes of I-270 were closed from McKelvey Road up to the 270/70 interchange. Those lanes have since been re-opened.
