(KMOV) – Schnucks Markets has recalled ground beef sold at a Fairview Heights store after company officials say pieces of black display paper may have made its way into the meat grinder on Sunday.

The recall is for all ground beef sold between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the store in the 620 block of Lincoln Highway. All customers who bought pre-packaged ground sirloin, ground round and ground chuck during that time frame can return the item for a full refund or exchange.

According to a company spokesperson, a customer on Sunday returned a package of ground beef containing piece of display paper. All ground-beef products were removed from the meat cases and the grinder was cleaned.

The company said no other stores were affected and there have been no reports of injury or illness.

Customers with questions may contact the Schnucks Consumer Affairs department at 314-994-4400 or 1-800-264-4400.
