(KMOV) -- KMOV.com just received this road construction news release affecting drivers in St. Peters, MO.

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor, Fred Weber Inc., will temporarily close Jungermann Road across Route 94 at 5 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 to construct a portion of the new outer
roads for Route 364.

Jungermann Road will close between the Burger King entrance and Route 94 on the north side and between Route 94 and the Walmart entrance on the south side. The roadway across Route 94 is scheduled to reopen in eight weeks, just before Thanksgiving.

There will also be no direct access to Centre Pointe Drive from Jungermann Road on the north side of Route 94. To ensure access to businesses on Centre Pointe Drive between Jungermann Road and Harvest Drive, Centre Pointe Drive will return to two way traffic before Jungermann Road closes.

Traffic will still be able to get through on Route 94.  Drivers can use Harvester Road and Queensbrooke or McClay to travel to businesses on the north side of Route 94. Drivers can use Harvester Road and Old Route 94 to travel to businesses on the south side of Route 94. Signs will direct drivers around the detour and to major shops (Schnucks, Walmart and Kohls)
on either side of the intersection.

This is part of a $44 million project to extend Route 364 from east of Jungermann Road to west of Central School Road in St. Charles County.

Crews will also construct outer roads build Route 364 over Woodstone and Jungermann Roads and construct a bridge to carry Central School Road traffic over the new route. There are additional projects to extend Route 364 all the way to Mid Rivers Mall Drive. The project is scheduled to be complete in 2012.
