(KMOV.com) -- The Richmond Heights City Council has approved the redevelop of the southern half of Hadley Township.

The council approved $15 million in tax increment financing to bring a Menards store to the area.

The project will be south of Elinor Avenue, north of Maplewood’s Walmart.

After more than a dozen years of false starts and failed redevelopment attempts, residents just hope to get a fair price for their property.

“We have a double lot,” said Joann Thames. “The first buyout it was a good offer and each one is less and less.”

Menards will buy out about 100 properties

By the end of the year, Menards will notify property owners of closing for their sales contracts.
