EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – A reward is being offered to the person who can help find a suspect who attacked a woman riding her bicycle on a popular trail in Edwardsville late last month.

Madison County Transit is offering a $5,000 reward to the arrest and conviction of the man responsible.

Deputies say the girl was riding her bicycle along the Goshen Trail in the 500 block of Chancellor Dr. June 23 when a man ran out from the woods saying his friend needed help.

After the woman got off her bicycle to provide assistance, the suspect grabbed the woman and pulled her to the ground, police say.

The woman broke free and rode her bicycle away from the area.

Police say they’re looking for a black man who is approximately 6’00” with a thin build.

If you have any information, call Edwardsville police at 618-656-2131.
