(KMOV) – A $2,000 reward is being offered to the person who can help catch a suspect who led police on a high-speed chase after murdering a man in Madison, Ill. on Monday.
The St. Louis Major Case Squad on Wednesday released surveillance photos of the suspect, who’s described as a black man in his 20s, around six feet tall and 160 pounds. On the suspect’s left hand is a tattoo of a star with the number 5 in the middle.
Police believe the suspect is responsible for the murder of Kenneth Deal, who was shot near the intersection of 3rd Street and Washington Ave. Deal was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say during the chase the suspect threw an unknown number of items off the bridge into the Mississippi River.
The pursuit lasted about 10 minutes until police lost sight of the suspects’ vehicle near the intersection of Newhouse and 25th.
Police believe the suspect frequents both the Missouri and Illinois sides of the Mississippi River. Authorities say he was driving a maroon 1988 Oldsmobile Regency 98, which has been recovered by Major Case Squad investigators.
